Beacon Place - Exterior Building Upgrades
Over this past year, Goldwing Construction was retained as the prime general contractor through the tender process on 3 different major capital projects for Centurion Property Associates Inc.
I had the pleasure of awarding and working with Goldwing Construction on our newly acquired property; Beacon Place Apartments - Exterior Upgrades Project. The scope of work included a refreshed curb appeal with new modern amenity spaces and bold visual improvements to rebrand the image of the building.
During a construction review visit, the site engineers identified major structural spalling of the 10-story brick overhang's lintel supports on this 1962 build year apartment. This was unfortunate to discover and added a major component to the scope of work. Despite the circumstance I was impressed with how they endured the challenge. Goldwing maintained a high level of analysis to refine and execute a cost-effective repair with the trade feedback and support of the structural engineer. Goldwing was able to maintain quality driven, competitive target completion throughout the change process. As our residence was habituated throughout all phases of project delivery, Goldwing Construction went above and beyond to ensure overreaching safety protocols and physical measures were always in place.
From their business development, project management and site supervision everything was transparent and immediate through all communications. Goldwing's President, Mark McFarlane was always reachable, his dlrect engagement on the project at a high level was paramount among other industry owners. Jay Ladina, PM, maintained accurate and organized project details and financials. Trevor Teters, Superintendent, coordinated a quality and smooth level of production, often going the extra mile to satisfy our daily operations. Jamie Fleese, Business Development, has a charismatic personality and showcased a deep understanding for our investors needs through the challenges, providing oversight to her team that represented those specific needs to our organization.
In turn, this series of specific roles provided Centurion Property Associates Inc. with the best obtainable value for our investors and residents, but most importantly a safe place to live. As the owner's representative, I was able to provide organized and timely stakeholder updates, and control project spending due to the partner mentality that Goldwing brought to the table.
